Their role involves reviewing US and foreign patent docket updates to ensure compliance with legal requirements and internal policies, providing corrective guidance to team members, and training new docketing staff as needed. This position entails conducting internal audits of patent client portfolios and preparing system reports and customized queries. The Specialist collaborates with the IP Patent Docketing Manager and Coordinator to identify and rectify inaccuracies in departmental procedures, ensuring adherence to client and firm standards.
Additional responsibilities include training staff, reconciling audit reports, and assisting with special projects and client intakes. Candidates should possess thorough knowledge of patent prosecution procedures, strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to handle pressure and changing priorities. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred, while related work experience can substitute. Applicants should have a minimum of five years of patent docketing experience, including a year in quality review, and prior law firm experience is necessary. The anticipated salary range is $100,000 - $120,000.
