The Public Records Act (PRA) Analyst or Paralegal plays a crucial role in managing legal work related to the Public Records Act for public agency clients. They collaborate with Lead Paralegals in the Advanced Records Center to efficiently review documents in response to public records requests, ensuring compliance with legal standards. Key responsibilities include tracking requests, determining the scope of document searches, collaborating with agency staff, and assisting attorneys in drafting response letters. The Analyst/Paralegal is expected to have strong analytical skills and discretion to handle complex issues relating to public records. They also conduct research on applicable laws, maintain deadlines, and prepare legal documents while ensuring accuracy and adherence to statutory requirements. Required qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree, a paralegal certificate, and at least five years of relevant experience. Ideal candidates should possess excellent organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently. The position offers an annual salary ranging from $75,000 to $85,000, depending on experience and location, and is designed for individuals who can professionally represent public agency counsel and manage public records effectively.
