Immigration Paralegal

The Immigration Paralegal position in Detroit involves filing various applications and petitions with multiple government agencies, including the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Key responsibilities include maintaining a tickler system for deadlines, drafting and coordinating applications such as TN, H-1B, and L Petitions, and managing PERM Applications and Naturalization Applications. The role also requires drafting support documents like letters and affidavits, organizing required materials, and assisting clients in obtaining foreign documents, including birth and police records. Additionally, the paralegal will coordinate the translation and evaluation of foreign degrees.

Successful candidates should possess excellent organizational and project management skills, as well as strong verbal and written communication abilities. The ability to work independently with minimal supervision is essential, along with intermediate to advanced experience using INS ZOOM. Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree, and a paralegal certification from an ABA-approved program is preferred. A minimum of five years of paralegal experience is necessary, with a proven track record in relevant areas.
