A leading law firm is seeking a Corporate Governance New Matters Associate to join its case evaluation team. This role focuses on identifying, assessing, and initiating fiduciary duty claims on behalf of investor clients. Responsibilities include analyzing potential claims, advising institutional investors and hedge funds, drafting court filings, and engaging with shareholder rights and defense firms. The associate will work closely with firm partners and collaborate across multiple teams, including Financial Analysis and Institutional Investor Services.
Ideal candidates will have a JD (preferably from 2019-2022), with a preference for those admitted to the New York or Delaware Bar. Experience with Chancery Court, fiduciary duty, or merger litigation is strongly preferred, and a clerkship—especially in Delaware Chancery Court—is a plus. Strong financial literacy, excellent research and writing skills, and an entrepreneurial mindset are essential.
This full-time, hybrid role is based in New York City or Wilmington, with three in-office days (Tuesdays and Wednesdays required) and two remote days. The firm values diversity and requires all employees to be vaccinated and boosted. The salary range is $195,000–$320,000, based on experience and qualifications.
