Lead Collections Manager

The Lead Collections Manager oversees the Collections team’s daily operations to meet firm targets. Responsibilities include enforcing collection policies, collaborating with partners and clients to resolve payment issues, and ensuring high-quality client service. Key duties involve managing the collections team, maintaining compliance with policies, and conducting regular communications about responsibilities and performance. The role also entails training new team members, promoting a collaborative team culture, and managing aged receivables by strategizing with partners on account statuses. Negotiation of client settlements, maintaining organized notes within collections software, responding promptly to inquiries, and providing reports and statements to clients are essential tasks.

Minimum qualifications include a BA in accounting or business, at least 7 years in legal collections, with 5 years in management preferred. Key skills required involve a high degree of organization, proficiency in MS Office, excellent communication abilities, and strong negotiation techniques. Candidates must demonstrate a high level of confidentiality and professionalism, alongside a willingness to work additional hours as needed. The salary range for this position in Chicago is between $145,660 and $218,491, depending on experience and qualifications.
