The Labor Attorney/Negotiations position is a key role within the Negotiations and Contract Administration department, responsible for supporting bargaining and negotiation efforts with American Airlines. This includes contributing to strategy development, drafting proposals, and contract language, and providing legal advice to ensure compliance with the Railway Labor Act (RLA) and other relevant laws. The attorney will participate in negotiations, mediations, and arbitrations, and represent the Association in various legal proceedings. 

The role involves managing and training staff, including Contract Administrators, and supporting the enforcement of collective bargaining agreements (CBA) and other related agreements. The attorney will also provide legal counsel on a variety of labor-related issues, monitor legal trends, and engage in legal research and writing. 

A Juris Doctorate (JD) and admission to practice law in Texas are required, with a preference for experience in labor law and representing unions. The role demands strong skills in drafting contractual language, active participation in collective bargaining, and effective communication. Occasional travel for negotiations and other meetings is expected, and the work is primarily conducted in an office environment with some remote work as needed.
