Lateral Analyst

The Lateral Analyst is responsible for conducting highly confidential conflicts and compliance checks for prospective new hires, focusing primarily on North America. This role supports individual lateral hires and large group acquisitions, ensuring all processes comply with firm policies and professional standards. The Analyst collaborates with HR, Risk, and firm leaders, maintaining updated records in Intapp Open and shared global spreadsheets.

Key responsibilities include performing conflicts checks on candidates' client lists and open/closed matters, analyzing results, and summarizing findings. The Analyst liaises with Risk to address incomplete candidate information and identifies potential conflicts, escalating issues when necessary. They also facilitate onboarding by coordinating portable work pre-clearance, implementing ethical walls, and providing training on conflicts submission.

Additional duties involve assisting with special projects, handling compliance checks for existing clients, and supporting marketing and business development efforts. The Analyst also contributes to anti-money laundering (AML) checks, verifying new clients, conducting due diligence, and assessing risk ratings.

The role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong communication skills, and proficiency in legal case management tools like Intapp Open. A college degree is required, with a J.D. or paralegal certification preferred. This position demands a flexible, service-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
