Litigation Legal Assistant (NYC)

The firm is seeking a Litigation Legal Assistant for its NYC office to support attorneys with document preparation, legal filings, and administrative tasks. The role involves organizing case files, managing legal documents, and ensuring timely and accurate filing in NY, NJ, and Federal Courts. Responsibilities include drafting legal documents, coordinating court filings, scheduling meetings and hearings, and handling attorney calendars. The assistant will also provide general administrative support, including answering calls, managing emails, and overseeing office operations such as supplies and equipment. Additionally, the role involves coordinating travel arrangements and maintaining professionalism in client and opposing counsel communications.

Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in legal studies or a related field, with at least three years of experience in a legal environment. Proficiency in MS Word and Outlook is required, along with familiarity with e-filing in state and federal courts. Experience with Best Authority for creating tables of authorities, NetDocuments for document management, and SurePoint for billing software is preferred. Strong organizational, multitasking, and communication skills are essential for success in this role.

The salary range for this position is $65,000–$85,000, based on experience and qualifications.
