The Information Governance (IG) Specialist position, based in Houston, is a full-time role that reports to the regional IG manager. The specialist is part of the IG team and is responsible for the collection, management, and disposition of client and matter files through the firm’s records management (RM) and document management (DM) systems. Key duties include assisting with the storage and retrieval of electronic and physical files, monitoring email notifications for file updates, and preparing closed matter files for offsite storage.
The specialist also provides support to attorneys and staff regarding the RM and DM systems and handles technical inquiries related to system errors. Candidates should have an associate degree or higher, at least three years of experience in information governance or records management, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential, along with the ability to adapt to changing priorities. Preferred qualifications include experience with iManage Work 10, CAM, and database applications, particularly in a legal environment. Physical demands involve lifting up to 35 pounds and working at a computer for extended periods. The position entails regular interaction with firm personnel and limited contact with external vendors.
