Director of Recruiting

The Director of Recruiting will lead the firm’s talent acquisition strategy for attorneys and professional staff, ensuring alignment with growth objectives and talent needs. This California-based role, designated to the San Francisco or Los Angeles office, requires a strategic thinker with deep legal industry expertise and a strong recruitment track record. The Director will collaborate with firm leadership to develop long-term hiring strategies, manage lateral partner recruitment, oversee professional staff hiring, and build relationships with search firms and industry networks.

Key responsibilities include leading the Strategic Growth and Lateral Partner Recruiting Committee, facilitating seamless integration for new hires, and mentoring the recruiting team. The role also involves executing DEI recruitment initiatives in partnership with the DEI team, analyzing hiring trends, and enhancing employer branding through partnerships with law schools and professional organizations. Additionally, the Director will oversee the recruitment budget and optimize the candidate experience.

Candidates should have at least eight years of recruiting experience, preferably in a law firm, with five years in management. A bachelor’s degree is required, with a JD or advanced degree preferred. Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills are essential. The salary range is $250,000–$290,000, with compensation based on experience and qualifications.
