Reporting to the Collections Manager, this role involves direct communication with partners and clients regarding past-due accounts, maintaining collection status notes, and ensuring timely payments. The specialist will provide monthly client status updates, escalate problematic accounts, and implement payment solutions. Responsibilities also include generating reminder statements, monitoring short payments due to e-billing reductions, assisting with payment application, reconciling client accounts, and working closely with the Billing Department to resolve disputes.
Candidates should have a bachelor's degree and 5–7 years of experience in a large law or professional services firm, along with a strong understanding of the collections process. Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and experience with Aderant Expert and collections software are preferred. The role requires excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently under pressure. Flexibility to work overtime, particularly at year-end, is expected.
The salary range for this position in New York City is $80,000–$95,000, based on experience, qualifications, and market data.
