This role requires expertise in litigation processes, state and federal court rules, and strong organizational and communication skills to handle complex scheduling, document preparation, and client management. The Practice Specialist works in a collaborative, high-pressure environment, often needing to prioritize rapidly changing tasks. Duties include e-filing, creating and organizing case binders, managing client tax documents, drafting engagement letters, and preparing attorney timesheets, expense reports, and client billing.
The ideal candidate has a minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a litigation secretary within a law firm, a deep understanding of litigation life cycles, and familiarity with California's civil and local rules. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and document management tools like NetDocs is required, with knowledge of software such as Relativity and Trial Director preferred.
