The Billing Coordinator in the Los Angeles office plays a crucial role in supporting finance operations, focusing on the accurate and efficient preparation and submission of monthly pre-bills, invoices, and appeals. Working closely with the Finance team, attorneys, and legal secretaries, the Billing Coordinator oversees all facets of the electronic billing function, including split and complex billing arrangements. Responsibilities include generating, editing, finalizing, and submitting legal bills, monitoring unbilled fees, resolving billing issues, preparing billing reports, and managing retainer funds and write-offs. This role also involves creating new billing formats and handling specialized projects based on client needs.
The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or business administration, or possess equivalent experience, and have at least three years of law firm billing experience. Proficiency with legal billing software (preferably Aderant and e-billing portals) is essential. Attention to detail, strong organizational and analytical skills, and the ability to manage projects effectively under tight deadlines are critical. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, as well as adaptability to new technology, are essential. The position requires a proactive, reliable, and team-oriented individual with a professional demeanor and the capacity to handle a high workload efficiently. This hybrid role reports to the Billing and Collections Director and requires at least one day in-office weekly.
