The Install Technician is responsible for installing cabling, conduits, and back-boxes to support security systems such as access control, CCTV, fire alarms, and burglar alarm systems. They handle all aspects of system installation, including wiring, device termination, control panel setup, and conduit installation. Working under the Operations Manager, the technician also collaborates with Project Managers, sales agents, contractors, and customers. Key tasks include programming alarm and access control panels, conducting routine check-ins, and providing customer training on installed systems. The technician must also manage paperwork, maintain tools and vehicles, and attend safety and training meetings.
Candidates need at least one year of hands-on experience in the security alarm industry, effective communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in high-pressure situations. A valid California driver’s license, the ability to obtain an Alarm Company Employee registration card, and working toward or holding a California Fire Alarm Journeyman License are required. Physical demands include lifting up to 25 pounds, driving, walking, standing, and climbing. The role offers a salary range of $34-41/hour, and the individual must possess basic computer and mathematical skills, along with solid problem-solving abilities. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
