The Manager of Information Governance will oversee the development, implementation, and enforcement of policies to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and industry best practices. Working closely with IT, General Counsel, and other key stakeholders, this role manages information assets throughout their lifecycle, ensuring proper classification, retention, and disposal. Responsibilities include maintaining an inventory of electronic data repositories, assisting with legal discovery collections, and ensuring compliance with legal holds. The manager will also conduct audits, provide compliance guidance, and lead training programs to enhance information governance awareness.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in data privacy laws, information security, and records management, along with experience managing teams and collaborating cross-functionally. Proficiency in document management systems, Microsoft Purview, and compliance tools is preferred. A bachelor’s degree in Information Management, IT, Legal Studies, or a related field is required, with a JD considered a plus. Candidates should have at least eight years of experience in information governance, preferably within a legal or professional services setting. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the firm's data management aligns with regulatory requirements and best practices.
