Director of Information Governance

The Director of Information Governance is responsible for developing, implementing, and enforcing policies to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements within the firm. This role requires close collaboration with IT, legal, and risk/compliance teams to create strategic plans for information governance (IG) and maintain an inventory of all electronic information repositories. The Director works with litigation support to handle discovery collections and ensures proper lifecycle management of the firm’s information assets in line with policies and laws. They lead training sessions to raise awareness on IG practices and conduct regular audits to ensure compliance.

The position requires at least 8 years of experience in information governance, ideally in a legal or professional services environment. Key skills include knowledge of data privacy laws, records management, and information security. Experience with document management systems, Microsoft Purview, and managing teams is also important. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential, and a bachelor’s degree in a related field is required (a JD is a plus). 

This is a full-time office-based position, working in a standard office environment.
