Labor Attorney/Negotiations Manager

A Labor Attorney/Negotiations Manager is needed to join the Negotiations and Contract Administration department. The role involves supporting the execution of bargaining and negotiating processes with American Airlines, drafting proposals and contract language, and assisting in staff training and management. This position also provides legal services to protect and advance the rights of the Allied Pilots Association and its members, representing them in various legal venues.

Key responsibilities include advising on pilot agreements, participating in negotiation sessions, providing input on bargaining proposals, and ensuring compliance with the Railway Labor Act. The role also involves managing staff, supporting contract administration and enforcement, and representing the Association in arbitrations and court proceedings. The Attorney/Manager must monitor developments in labor and employment law, review policies for legal compliance, and engage in legal research and writing. Additionally, the role includes delivering educational programs on collective bargaining and labor law.

The position requires a Juris Doctorate (JD) from an ABA-approved law school, admission to the Texas Bar, and a minimum of five years of legal experience, preferably in labor law and collective bargaining. The candidate should possess strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills and have the ability to manage multiple tasks and staff effectively. Some travel and on-site work are required, with occasional remote work as needed.
