Senior Manager of Business Development (Corporate)

The Senior Manager of Business Development (Corporate) is responsible for leading high-value strategic business development efforts within a law firm’s corporate section. This role involves managing and mentoring a team of business development (BD) professionals who support various corporate-related practice groups. The Senior Manager works closely with section management and practice leaders to refine marketing and BD strategies, focusing on sectors like life sciences and technology. Key responsibilities include monitoring industry trends, sourcing client development targets, overseeing RFPs and pitches, and ensuring effective sales and client development activities.

The role also involves collaborating with public relations, marketing, finance, and other departments to build the firm's brand and optimize client services. Additionally, the Senior Manager plays a critical role in integrating new lateral hires and managing the BD team’s activities, including budget preparation and strategic spending.

Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree, 10+ years of BD experience (preferably in a law firm), strong people management skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a consultative approach with attorneys. The role requires 60% in-office presence, with some travel, and a strong focus on client service, attention to detail, and team collaboration.
