Litigation Legal Secretary

The Litigation Legal Secretary position involves providing high-level secretarial and administrative support to four or more attorneys, focusing on litigation and appellate cases from inception through post-trial. Key responsibilities include organizing case files, preparing deposition materials, assisting with trial preparations, and handling document production, including drafting and editing legal forms and correspondence. The role requires flexibility to work overtime when necessary.

Specific duties include scheduling court appearances, depositions, mediations, and travel arrangements, processing travel reimbursements, and managing attorneys' calendars. The secretary organizes and directs the flow of information, handling incoming mail and phone calls, and preparing various documents from handwritten notes and dictation. Drafting legal documents such as briefs and motions, coordinating multi-document filings in various courts, and maintaining filing systems in both hard copy and electronic formats are essential tasks.

Skills needed include a strong understanding of litigation laws, familiarity with court document filing rules, and the ability to maintain high standards of accuracy and organization. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are crucial, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and document management technologies. The role requires at least five years of legal secretarial experience, preferably with exposure to litigation and appellate practices, and a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
