Conflicts Attorney

The Conflicts Attorney is responsible for identifying and resolving potential conflicts of interest in a law firm. Under the guidance of the General Counsel’s office and the Professional Responsibility Committee, the attorney analyzes conflict search results from the firm's database and external sources. Key duties include advising firm attorneys on conflict clearance, drafting conflict waivers, and supervising nonlawyer conflict staff. The attorney documents steps taken to clear conflicts and manages ethical walls using the Intapp Walls tool. The role also involves maintaining the conflicts database with information on clients, subsidiaries, and related parties, and assisting with anti-money laundering compliance as needed. On-call coverage during weekends and holidays is required, along with other duties assigned by firm management.

The position requires a law degree from an accredited school and bar membership in the relevant jurisdiction. Familiarity with professional conduct rules and anti-money laundering compliance is preferred. Strong research, analytical, and communication skills are essential, along with good judgment and interpersonal abilities. Proficiency in MS Office and knowledge of conflict clearance systems like Intapp OPEN are preferred. Supervisory experience is desirable. The salary ranges from $170,000 to $249,000, based on geography and experience. This is an exempt position reporting to the Conflicts Counsel and Manager, with a remote work setup for candidates local to Washington DC, New York, San Francisco, or Los Angeles.
