Fiduciary Administrator

The Fiduciary Administrator is responsible for managing estate and trust administration as well as fiduciary tax matters for a law firm. This role requires a Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 10 years of recent experience in estate and trust administration and fiduciary tax. The administrator must be knowledgeable in Hot Docs Surrogate’s Court Forms and familiar with Surrogate’s Court procedures in NY, CT, NJ, and FL. Proficiency with ProSystem or Gosystem and familiarity with Omega or OneSource Software is preferred.

Key duties include drafting correspondence and documents related to estate and trust administration, preparing probate and administration papers, and managing Federal and state estate and inheritance tax returns. The role involves coordinating distributions to beneficiaries, arranging payment of estimated taxes, maintaining tax ticklers, and ensuring timely filing of returns. Additionally, the administrator assembles work papers for individual tax returns, liaises with attorneys, investment advisors, and other administrators, and arranges appraisals of assets. Responsibilities also include preparing Receipt and Release documents and Agreements Settling Accounts of Executors and Trustees.

The ideal candidate will have a professional demeanor, strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build strong relationships with clients, attorneys, and accountants. A willingness to learn, be a team player, and deliver quality service is essential. Knowledge of tax forms 1041, 706, 709, and 990-PF is required.

The expected salary range for this position is between $125,000 - $150,000. The actual base salary offered will depend upon a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
