Client Accounting Coordinator (DC)

Our client is seeking a Client Accounting Coordinator to join their firm, based in the Washington D.C. office with a hybrid work schedule. This role involves providing client accounting analysis and billing support to partners, preparing bills, coordinating the e-billing process, and following up on billing and collection matters. The Coordinator will handle complex billing and client analysis projects, review information for client/matters for which partners are responsible, and take appropriate actions. Additionally, the role includes preparing internal request forms, monitoring the billing system, performing bi-monthly reviews of new matters, and assisting with the identification and setup of new matters requiring task codes.

The Coordinator will also handle daily e-billing rejections and adjustments, make recommendations on how to respond to rejections, and promptly respond to inquiries from attorneys, legal assistants, and staff. Maintaining up-to-date files for assigned partners and clients, updating logs for billing and reminder memos, and communicating situations requiring Manager follow-up are key responsibilities. The role requires effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to manage firm resources responsibly, comply with firm operations, and seek to enhance knowledge of client accounting procedures. Other related duties may be assigned as needed.

The ideal candidate should have knowledge of relevant firm computer software (e.g., Aderant, Outlook, Word, Excel) and the ability to learn new software and operating systems. They should demonstrate discretion, independent judgment, analytical and troubleshooting skills, organizational and planning abilities, and effective communication skills. Attention to detail, the ability to handle multiple projects and shifting priorities, maintain confidentiality, work well in a fast-paced environment, and adjust hours as needed are also important. A bachelor’s degree and a minimum of two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, are required. The expected salary range for this position is between $75,000 and $80,000, with the actual base salary dependent on various factors such as qualifications, experience, education, certifications, and location.
